We are currently seeking an experienced IT Server Administrator to join their team on behalf of our customer. As the IT Server Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, support, and maintenance of the customer's server and storage systems, both hardware and software. You will provide support and maintenance for virtualization platforms, terminal and unified communication services, manage patch and security updates for server operating systems, administer local networks for servers and output devices, ensure cross-site data backup and recovery for manufacturing data, provide hardware and user support for local applications, contribute to various areas of responsibility such as KVP (Continuous Improvement), VV (Value-Added), Health, Safety, and Environmental, and be available for on-call standby service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, support, and maintain server and storage systems, including both hardware and software components, to ensure the availability and performance of the customer's IT infrastructure.
- Provide support and maintenance for virtualization platforms, terminal services, and unified communication services, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.
- Manage patch and security updates for server operating systems to protect against vulnerabilities and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Administer and maintain local networks for servers and output devices, ensuring seamless connectivity and efficient data transfer.
- Perform cross-site data backup and recovery processes for manufacturing data, implementing robust backup strategies and ensuring data integrity.
- Provide hardware and user support for local applications, troubleshooting issues and resolving technical problems.
- Contribute to the areas of responsibility such as KVP (Continuous Improvement), VV (Value-Added), Health, Safety, and Environmental, ensuring compliance and actively participating in improvement initiatives.
- Be available for on-call standby service, responding to IT emergencies and resolving critical issues in a timely manner.
Experience:
- Knowledge of manufacturing and commercial processes within the IT context, understanding the specific requirements and challenges of the industry.
- Proficiency in network administration, including Windows, TCP/IP, Active Directory, Unix/Linux, and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with measurement and control technology would be advantageous, as it relates to the IT infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.
